Dr. Woei Saw
Profile
Dr. Woei Saw is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide. He teaches a final-year chemical engineering course titled "Metallurgical Processes," encompassing Hydro-, Electro-, and Pyro-metallurgy topics. Additionally, he oversees the supervision of undergraduate students' plant design work and research projects, alongside mentoring postgraduate research students. As for his research activities, he has a proven track record of developing and demonstrating innovative technologies to decarbonize high-temperature heavy industrial processes. These have been applied to sectors like alumina/aluminium, iron/steel, and cement/lime, utilising low-cost sustainable renewable energy sources. His expertise extends to hands on experience in designing and operating pilot scale systems. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, he holds an administrative position at the School as the Director of Internationalisation. In this capacity, he oversees engagement activities with the Universities/Colleges in Malaysia.
