Dr. Woei Saw

Dr. Woei Saw is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Adelaide. He teaches a final-year chemical engineering course titled "Metallurgical Processes," encompassing Hydro-, Electro-, and Pyro-metallurgy topics. Additionally, he oversees the supervision of undergraduate students' plant design work and research projects, alongside mentoring postgraduate research students. As for his research activities, he has a proven track record of developing and demonstrating innovative technologies to decarbonize high-temperature heavy industrial processes. These have been applied to sectors like alumina/aluminium, iron/steel, and cement/lime, utilising low-cost sustainable renewable energy sources. His expertise extends to hands on experience in designing and operating pilot scale systems. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities, he holds an administrative position at the School as the Director of Internationalisation. In this capacity, he oversees engagement activities with the Universities/Colleges in Malaysia.

Danial Aminin Zairin

Danial Aminin Zairin is currently working in ExxonMobil as Manufacturing Process Engineer. He monitors and supports gas processing & treating for sites in Canada and Saudi Arabia. Prior to ExxonMobil, Danial worked as Sales and Application engineer in IPSA Sdn Bhd, under a year, providing process instrumentation and lab equipment to private industries and government bodies. He obtained his Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering in Taylor’s University, published a total of 4 papers. Research area involved formulating and evaluating thermal and dielectric properties of hybrid transformer oil nanofluid.

Ng Wai Lun

Ng Wai Lun is a 3rd year fast-track PhD student in Taylor’s University who graduated his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Hons) from Taylor’s University in 2019 with 3.85 CGPA and Best Student Award in all eight semesters. During his undergraduate time, Wai Lun had 4 internship experiences in the education and publication (GTI Media Sdn Bhd and Pearson) and downstream oil and gas (BASF Petronas Sdn Bhd) industries. Throughout his PhD, he has provided lab tutorship to over 100 undergraduate students, published 3 papers and presented his research findings in 5 conferences locally and internationally. Wai Lun’s research focuses on the mixed culture resource recovery from waste glycerin pitch into valuable bio-flocculants with circular economy potential in the oleochemical industry.
